How to Wear and Care for Your Greek Apparel

There are many times that you will want to wear your Greek apparel to make a statement or show your spirit for your organization. However, there are important things you need to know and keep in mind when wearing your Greek clothing. In addition, there are important things you need to know about how to care for your clothing so that it stays looking nice for all the years you are in your sorority or fraternity.

Wearing your Greek apparel may seem as easy as putting it on. However, you should consider many factors before putting on that Greek t shirt. For example, if you will be getting extremely dirty, muddy, or stained, you may not want to wear your Greek clothing. You will not want to get it stained so that you can not wear it again. If you absolutely must wear something like that, pick one of your older Greek sweatshirts that do not matter as much to you. This way when it gets stained you will not have as big of a loss.

You should also consider how you wear your Greek hoodies. Hoodies are easy to tie around the waist, but when you do so you hide the Greek lettering that shows off your sorority or fraternity. Therefore, you need to consider how you are wearing your Greek apparel, especially in the case of a hoodie. If the lettering is split down the middle, you will want to make sure it is zipped up so that everyone can read your hoodie easily. This will also cut down on questions such as, "What is that funky design?"

There are also some things you need to know about caring for your Greek clothing so that you can enjoy it for years to come. First, you need to know how to wash the clothing. You should turn your Greek t shirt inside out before tossing it into the washer. This helps protect the lettering and keeps it from coming off in the washer or the dryer.

Next, when you dry the clothing you should not dry it completely, but leave it a bit damp if necessary. The key is to not let the clothing get too hot so that the lettering does not come loose around the edges. If you do not get your clothing pulled out in time, you can try to put the lettering back in place with an iron and have the shirt dry flat. This should protect the lettering and keep it from coming off until the next time you wash it. Once your lettering starts to try to come loose you should consider buying new Greek clothing before the lettering completely comes loose on your current shirts.

Now that you know how to wear and care for your Greek apparel, you can easily make sure that you look your best whenever you are representing your fraternity or sorority. Regardless of where you are or what you are doing, you want to be certain that you are representing your organization with your best foot forward. Additionally, some organizations will penalize you if you do not wear your apparel correctly or care for it properly.
